Title: Collection & Archives Apprenticeship: Art in Public Places at the Department of Cultural Affairs

Duration:  3-6 months (3 months minimum)

Hours: 6-9 hours per week commitment, Monday - Friday, between the hours of 10am – 6pm. (combination of online and in-person work)

OPPORTUNITY DESCRIPTION: 

Apprenticeship Duration: 2-4 Months

Candidates may be enrolled in college, graduate school, or active in related field. Interns are eligible for academic credit. Letters of recommendation may be requested based on performance upon the completion of the fellowship. 

  • Collection and Archives: Responsible for the preservation and organization of the physical and digital archives of one the most established public art programs in the nation, encompassing a collection over 1000 artworks, in conjunction with launch of new Art in Public Places website and 50 year Anniversary. Work directly with APP team members for a focused fellowship in the areas of collection registration, new website construction database management, artist research, and digital and physical archiving. The position has some exposure to collection maintenance, restoration, and related field-work.  Opportunity to engage in Art in Public Places Trust and Professional Advisory Committee meetings and related business.
